I come across this word when I am reading this book called Lazy Dragon. It is a chinese literature book which consist of several short stories/legends. Is there such word in the english dictionary? Yes, it is in the english dictionary. Isnt it a word from chinese language?

Maybe it is the same as 'mata' and 'longkang' which are from BM and used in Chinese language. Looks like the western people can get influenced by others. =)

Colour of Red

Today is the 5th day (I typed this yesterday though) of Chinese New Year (CNY). I spent my time in the temples on the first day of CNY. It is my family’s tradition to go temples and become vegetarian on that day. I went to 2 temples in Kuala Lumpur. One of them is located near the Chinatown and another one is situated next to Central Market. There are many peoples in the temple including some tourists. I saw 1 tourist was sketching something (maybe the ‘kat chai’ tree) in the temple. Suddenly 1 aunty just offered this tourist a mandarin orange. I think it is a very nice of her to do that. The tourist just thanked her and he was quite happy that time.

Now back to my experience of CNY. All the while I kinda like those new versions of CNY songs. Those sang by new singer in Hong Kong. I like the TVB CNY songs by TVB artists like Jessica Hsuen and Bobby AuYong. I think that particular song really nice and funny of course. Even Twins sang one of the CNY songs.

Some people said better to start your job on 4th or 6th day of CNY in order to get more money I guess. I started on 5th!!!!! Doesn’t matter for me though.

Even though it is nice to have quite long break for me, sometimes I do feel kinda bored when no one come to visit or I didn’t go out. What else can I do?

Oh by the way, I would like to know about the throwing oranges to the lake/sea on Chap Goh Mei. Is it only applicable for girls only? HAHAHAHA!

I don’t have any tea time today as I was really busy working! Cleaning up the waste! I suffocated with those powders and liquid which are those colouring and flavours that stinks! And I had cleaned all up today by myself the whole day!

Biotechnology: A Promising Future?

It is very true that biotechnology going to be the BIG thing in the future. With bio-valley, the great impact of cloning, medical side and environment side, it is no doubt that it is great future for biotechnologist.

I had 2 days experience of working in a pharmaceutical. I asked myself, am I willing to work there for a long time? (My answer will be right after this!=P). My job requires basically dealing with chemicals (poison or non-poison), drugs, machines, bloody cold aircon, and small working area. The good thing about that place is that the people. Somehow they all very ‘muhibbah’ type. Friendly and nice people there. I can feel that there is no competition among them. Maybe because the jobs itself do not need any competition. All they need actually to test drugs, that’s all. Moreover, they going to have something called ‘POT LUCK’ whereby all of us must bring something to go there and share. Plus we have to exchange present as well. The present must be from RM10 till RM20. I mean it is good to have all this things to make the people happy.

What I learn so far? I learned to test the leakage of the package that contains tablets. I learned BE(bio-ethnics) studies (only pharmacy students should know, I don’t know), witness the process of making tablets and gel. I even deal the packaging machine and the machine to test the leakage myself!!!!

Though I might be sound interested to it. Of course I am interested in that especially dealing with machines (kinda fun to press here and there). But I don’t think I want to work there for a long term. Though the machines are so fun to play with but I think I will get bored somehow later. Even one of my colleagues there brought her own radio to her lab and just on it while she doing her titration works. I asked her, she said “yalor, somehow later quite boring wan”.

My answer: NO WAY I GOING TO WORK IN THE LAB FOREVER!!!!!

I will be applying to do my trainee as environmentalist maybe during my next summer break!

Innovax – A pharmaceutical?

I started my first day in Innovax (www.innovax.com.my). Basically it is a place for manufacturing drugs, vitamin and painkillers. To make it short, I am actually a pharmacist. Maybe not really a pharmacist, I am an industrial trainee to help the pharmacist. But the weird thing is that I am not taking any degree in pharmacy. I am just a Biotech student. It is quite cool though that even though I am a pharmacy student but I am still able to work to develop drugs!

Surprisingly, the pharmacist I followed today is called Yanti! I got a friend named Yanti, my supervisor named Yati when I worked synovate and now I am following Yanti. Why all my supervisors got the initial Y?

Being a new comer in this new situation is abit odd. I was keeping quiet as I am the youngest around there. I don’t even know my stuff. Plus I don’t want to sound so arrogant. I can’t just voice out suddenly. But my colleagues are quite friendly. They started to question me something when I felt left out. It was very good of them. My plan for next year summer break will be working in the environment. Maybe I would like to try as environmentalist trainee. So that I am more exposed to my course field. Even though, they don’t pay much for trainee. But what the heck, just get the experience.

But the working hour is 8 to 5. Luckily Saturday and Sunday I am off. I must go out that weekend. I just worried I cant cope with the stress by dealing with drugs, machine, chemical stuff. *sigh*

Most people will think this song is by N Sync. I personally like this song out of others by them. I also prefer their Spanish version. Then who is Richard Marx?

Richard Marx. The name sounds like a dictator or something like that. I think there is such thing as Marxism, right? I myself not too sure about that. In fact, he is the original singer of This I Promise You.

I watched that Aftershock. Jennifer Garner acted in that mini series before she get famous I guess. Thanks to Adrian’s parents, I finally am going for a so called interview in one of the labs. Wish me luck. =p

I went back to my old secondary school, BBBS. Lotsa of stuff change there. What i am doing there? I actually asked my teacher about the temporary teacher. The only subjects that require teacher are BM, English and Perdagangan. I was like..... NO NO..... Malay, i never touch it like 3 years? Then english..... WHY MY WEAKEST SUBJECT?!?!?! AND I HATE IT MOST!!! Perdagangan, hello..... i not an art stream student.

Boom My Room!

Chinese New Year will be coming soon. After that, according to Chinese calender, I will be 21 years old. 1 year older than the REAL thing. This calender abit weird. I also dont know about their origin.

As usual, i cleaned up my room. Basically just my tables and 'stuff'. I clear up my whole stack of entertainment magazines! TV hits, Smash hits and Galaxie. I noticed last time i was so into those magazines. Those magazines are meant for those teenagers. I no longer have much interest in reading those magazines. I just stacked them up and ready for SURAT KHABAR LAMA! I replaced them with National Geographic, Times and Popular Science magazines. Times actually very interesting mag. And it is cheaper than Popular Science.

I also found back some stuff. A boxer!!!!! Funny looking boxer! Given by the girls in my class last time. I also found back the Britney calender. To be honest, she look horrible there!!! My friend, Hsiu Lye bought that for me in UK. How lovely she is. I found some of my old books too which i didnt read them last time. To name a few : Peter Pan, Stargate, Blair WItch and Lazy Dragon (Chinese Myth).

I need more space to put my CDs and books. I think i will just sketch it first. In my mind, i want to put plants and a fish. See how first.

Revolution of New Year Resolutions?

What am I crapping? WHATEVER! As usual, I will put down some resolutions. 20 I shall be, I must not be so childish anymore. Hmm……..

I am not sure what to write for my resolutions as I see life much wider than we expected. 2003 taught me a lot of stuff, from dealing with failure to handling friends. Somehow I just feel that I have grown up mentally and physically (but I don’t grow taller =p).

My resolution will be just simple. Be satisfied of myself. That’s all. What I have to do? I have to study hard, become friendlier, able to help, have to be mentally and physically strong and others.

Lastly, sorry to anyone if I either TER-lanjur cakap or just make people irritated. I would also like to thank everyone for being supportive and be there when I need them.

So anyone thought of something in order to make a change in me? Anything! Any feedback
